News satire Australian style …
Sometimes I succeed and sometimes I don’t, but I am always striving to effectively cut through with illustrations and commentary using angles that are different to the norm.
It’s a tough job trying to cut through the layers of deception, absurdity and injustice that can bewilder us, whether they be political dishonesty, corporate misbehaviour, media manipulation or climate inaction, not to mention the ‘just plain ridiculous’ which I just did.
And then there is social apathy to contend with, made worse when people can’t be bothered calling out bigotry and prejudice.
Little wonder I chose Laugh or Cry as this Substack theme.
Yes, it’s a tough job, but someone has to do it!.
I describe myself as a thinking, left-leaning seasoned Australian who is growing more disillusioned with age, but here’s the inevitable but …
But I strongly believe that things can be changed, and are being changed by courtesy the rise in independent media and quality platforms like Substack.
Thanking you
