Sussan Ley, “dumb-arsed clown” is kicking arse
WARNING: CONTAINS PLENTY OF TRUTH
I’ve heard rumours you have been calling me a “dumb-arsed clown”.
Just a tad hypocritical for you - the clown prince of conservative stupidity.
This clown will make a mockery of you.
This clown will be your nemesis.
This clown is smart.
You think I have no place as a female Liberal leader with moderate views.
You think I am just keeping the leader’s seat warm for you, for the time being.
You are stupid enough to cling to outdated ultra-conservative values on gender equality, homosexuality, immigration and climate action.
You are stupid enough to cling to this Dutton-esque mentality that almost drove our party to extinction.
You are stupid enough to cling to the notion that hard-right populism will return the Coalition to government.
You don’t realise that most Australians view you, and your lot, as irrelevant. A rabble of right-wing ranters - testosterone junkies who could not organise a piss-up in a brewery - let alone a policy.
Yes Mr Hastie, I am talking to you.
This dumb-arsed clown is kicking arse. I’m already making you lot look like dickheads.
This dumb-arsed clown suggests you consider Resolve Political Monitor’s latest polling for The Age and SMH. The first three paragraphs of the analysis should be enough:
Sussan Ley has clawed back personal support in her first four months as opposition leader from voters who deserted Peter Dutton at the election in May, recording big jumps in her approval ratings among middle- and high-income earners, people with tertiary degrees and younger voters.
However, the jump in personal approval ratings since Ley became opposition leader has failed to save the Coalition from a record slump in the primary vote.
The figures from Resolve Political Monitor’s quarterly analysis suggest Ley’s pitch for the centre is starting to bear fruit, just as she is being pressured within the Coalition party room to shift the opposition’s policy stances on climate and migration further to the right.
Are you still there Mr Hastie?
Your attempts to sabotage my leadership are cowardly. You appear to be deficient in the balls department.
Last week, you called certain party colleagues “muppets” and “nameless cowards”,
then you claimed to be a team player. With team players like you, who needs warts?
Can you not see that you and your ‘National Right’ are driving the Opposition backwards to record low support levels? Without your mischief, I could move the party forward as a credible option.
You have declared that you would leave the frontbench if I, as leader, supported net zero by 2050.
I had not intended to do that, but I am now fully in favour of net zero.
