The Minister for Housing and Homelessness, Clare O’Neil has struck a joint deal with Amcor and Visy to solve Australia’s crippling housing crisis.
One million, one cubic metre, purpose built, recycled cardboard boxes will be rolled out over the next six months.
O’Neil said, “We realise conditions will be a little cramped, but we have catered for families of up to three kids, a dog, a cat and a canary – maybe even two canaries.”
Landlords across the country are outraged, claiming this housing supply solution will force them to charge fair and reasonable rents.
